What can 46 million people do? Besides get health insurance, that they can’t do.
Forty six million people is quite a crowd and surely must have some power, to assist in demonstrating just how powerful this group of 46,000,000 people could be I needed an example. So I started where any American should, with an election; In 1996, forty-six million people were enough to re-elect Bill Clinton President, wow that’s a lot of power. So I looked at another election 2004, John Kerry and his fifty-nine million people were only enough for second place. So maybe forty-six million people aren’t really that powerful and we should just let them die, after all the rest of us already have access to healthcare. Rather then give in to my skeptical nature I decided that elections were not the best to look for the power of 46,000,000 people, so let’s try World War Two how many people did that take, well 16,500,000 Americans served in the Armed Forces during the war so I guess 46,000,000 could beat Hitler, then I thought what about the allies. Well Combined forces of Great Britan, Russia, and the US are roughly 47,000,000 with the Soviets having major record keeping issues, its difficult to get an exact figure, I am sticking with 46,000,000 people could take down Hitler’s Germany in World War Two, so maybe forty-six million people are powerful with the right equipment. But, M1 Garands, Sherman Tanks and P-51 Mustangs are all outdated and obviously not helpful in obtaining healthcare. So maybe, if 46,000,000 people could take down Hitler, they could get healthcare in the Good Ole US of A , err no because 43 idiots are preventing that from happening in the US Senate.
So why can’t forty-six million Americans who’s Grandpa’s could take out Hitler get health insurance? did I mention 43 idiots in the Senate? back to the war, what about those Germans who our grandpa’s kicked the shit out of, I mean we did win the war so they must be far worse off then us right? Wrong, there aren’t even 46 Germans who don’t have access to healthcare, they all get it, just like all the other nations who participated in the war heck, even the French who didnt really fight against Hitler all have insurance. Even though they quit the war early and we bailed them out again(see1918). Seriously the French dont deserve health insurance, they are French and what did they ever do for us? They did provide Naval and Military Support during the Revolution, oh. Well after the Revolution they didnt do anything for us, Napoleon actually sold us half of our country at yard sale prices. No, I mean after the Louisiana Purchase? Well to be honest they did give us the Statue of Liberty. I knew that, I mean after the Statue of Liberty, err, damn French fries! Ok, I give up, but they are still French all cool with the wine and cigarettes, they are all skinny and look like runway models so what if they have healthcare? We don’t need healthcare for all we aren’t Socialists!!!
Ok, so let’s get this straight, our grandpa’s have Medicare (government run healthcare) our allies in world war two all have government run health care, and even the guys who started the war and then lost all have government healthcare, what wrong with this picture? The whole world has gone mad with Socialism! So I guess forty-six million Americans today aren’t worth as much today as sixteen million were in the 1940′s ahh, inflation of course that explains it.
Socialism is not American, Social Security, Medicare, ok, stop that is all for old people, and besides we, the properly insured, in-order to create a more perfect union, don’t give a shit about people who don’t have insurance or even access to a doctor. Why dont they work or something? What they do work, and its my next door neighbor, no can’t be he voted for McCain he’s just like me!
Just think as we sit here on the verge on the largest and worse flu season in a century 1 out of 4 kids in your childs classroom will not have access to a flu shot, or a doctor if they get sick. Do you think that might cause a problem? No, of course not we got our flu shots already who cares if my 2nd grade sons best friend dies from swine flu because his parents job doesnt offer insurance or the plan they have doesn’t cover immunizations, I mean public health is not the insurance companies job, or mine it’s the governments. Are you a Christian? Would Jesus be against the public option?
What if Jesus had said I don’t want to pay for someone elses sins, let then get a job, leave me alone I have vacation time saved up and my PPO doesn’t cover crucifictions so I am out of here! Hmmm you are going to try all day to figure out how to make Christ a Republican, he wasn’t he hated politics and if he were here he would hate you for you selfish manner and simple politics. What if idiots didn’t run the world? Forty-three idiots in the Senate.
What you can do with $102,000 per hour
Did you know that the United Health Care CEO is making $102,000 per hour this year not per week, or per month per hour! Now, if I were him I would be anti-health care reform to. Heck I would even lobby congress to prevent any changes, I might even fund commercials to “expose” the public option as a SOCIALIST CONSPIRACY FOR GLOBAL DOMINATION. The fact of the matter is that we are having the wool pulled over our eyes here in the US by dudes, yes, I said dudes.- The origin of the word is American in the 1880′s and was applied to a class of men all of whom were city slickers and came west to take advantage of the ignorant cowboys. Hence the term dude ranch. Now we have a new class of dudes who are really no different then the dudes of the old west. These modern day snake-oil salesmen are taking advantage of the ignorance of the population for their personal business gains.
As the only Modern Western Country without a national health-care plan for its citizens, the USA is the last bastion of the Health-care dudes. These dudes are well funded, and have multiple, so called think tanks spouting the benefits of the current system and the evils of not-for profit health-care like the snake oil salesman of the old west. These snake-oil salesmen have the cure for all your ills, and if you’re gullible enough to believe them you deserve what you get, nothing, nothing but denied claims and hassles every time you try to use the health insurance policy you pay for on every paycheck.
If on the other hand you don’t make $102,000 an hour for denying valid claims or sell snake-oil to the masses take the time to think about it. Who benefits from the status-quo by eliminating a public option ? To start with, its those dudes making a $100,000 an hour! Once you get a grip on reality and understand that you and every other hard working citizen of the worlds richest nation is already paying for national health-care (see your medicare taxes on your next paycheck) you just can’t use it until your 65, it’s called medicare. As an American you should be entitled to a decent standard of health-care, not the 37th best in the world. If you think (government run health care or-Medicare) sucks try and take it away from the seniors and see what happens. Ask your republican representative to sponsor a bill eliminating Medicare and see what he or she says. The fact is, that if you’re 65 or a veteran you already have a national health-care system and no one will sponsor a bill to eliminate VA or medicare spending why is that? Because old people and veterans vote, the poor and uninsured do not. The seniors have the AARP lobbying for them and its political suicide to attempt to cut veterans spending. So what is the point of this rant… You are, you’re the point at least the deductions from you’re paycheck anyway. If you are reading this you are not the poor or the uninsured you are like me, an average American you are one of the 125 million Americans that all that all the hype is about. You see it’s about your money because it’s your money that pays the CEO of United Health Care $102,000 an hour. So he and his army of high priced dudes are telling you in as many words to trust them, because the snake-oil they are selling is the best snake-oil ever…. The thing is it’s still just snake-oil..
